Remote Session Questions & Answers

How does a Remote Session work?

Remote sessions take place in our Online Studio where we meet virtually using the tool Zoom in a safe way. You book your session online and in the booking confirmation you receive detailed instructions on how to prepare your laptop, tablet or mobile phone before your session. We open the session 10 minutes before we start to help you set-up the best distance and angle so our instructor can see and hear you correctly. Read more and test that Zoom works correctly with video, sound and microphone on your computer, tablet or mobile https://zoom.us/test/. We recommend downloading and using the Zoom App in advance.

What equipment do I need for a Remote Session?

A thick (12-15 mm) and long (180 cm) exercise mat for Pilates is the most comfortable, but it also works well with single / double exercise mat for yoga. We use light dumbbells (0.5 and 1 kg) but as an alternative you can use cans or water bottles.

Can a friend and I do a Remote Session | Duet together?

Absolutely! Since remote session take place in our Online Studio where we meet virtually with the tool Zoom, you both can be in completely different places. You just book a spot each in a Remote Session | Duet separately on the exact same date and time.

Why should I do remote sessions over classes as a beginner?

Taking remote sessions at the beginning of your Pilates journey will help you learn the basics properly. When you know how to modify exercises to your own ability, group classes will be more effective and you will reach your goals faster.

I've never done Pilates before, when will I see results?

Joe Pilates always said, “In 10 sessions you will feel the difference, in 20 you will see the difference, and in 30 you will have a whole new body”

What's the difference between Pilates and Yoga?

Both Yoga and Pilates are mind-body exercise methods but there are some key differences:

  1. In Yoga the main focus is breathing. In Pilates the focus is precision of movement, breathing is secondary.
  2. Yoga tends to be more static, holding poses. Pilates tends to have more flow of movement.
  3. Yoga is rooted in spiritual, meditative practice. In Pilates there is no spiritual aspect.
